This series of images shows the coastal town of Lowstoft through the perspective of a Southerner. With a predominantly older population and inaccessible health services, Lowstoft is like many seaside resorts far from the south. In this case, the towns Poor housing, deprivation, and poverty was used as topics of reflection, provoking an discussion through a visual aesthetic of deep tones and highly saturated pigments. The intention of these images is not to document, but to ask whether such impressions about seaside towns can be formed from an outsider's point of view, considering the stigmas formed by other creators who also capture these locations.
